Intel Core i5 4570 - Techradar

Let's get one thing straight. If you're into overclocking, step away now. The
Core i5-4570 has nothing to offer you. The CPU multiplier can be tweaked a few notches, but is pretty much locked down.
The new base clock strap overclocking option doesn't appear, and the chip falls over if you meddle with the base clock itself.
On one hand, that winds us up pretty badly. Intel can only get away with all this because AMD can't compete in this part of the market. You only have to observe the fact that all AMD's FX chips are unlocked to see what a difference Intel's competitive advantage makes.
On the other hand, does overclocking really matter? Just like multi-GPU support on a motherboard, it's one of those tricky technologies that is probably more valued as an option than actually used.
The 4570 has the advantage of being a straightforward proposition. If overclocking's your bag, look elsewhere. So what's it like as a plain old processor?
As a gaming chip, it's very nice. Few games scale really efficiently beyond four threads, so the 4570 is right up there with its 4770K octo-threaded Haswell sibling. OK, the benchmark numbers betray a performance delta of about 10 per cent, but you're not going to feel that in-game.
The same applies to the comparison with the 4670K. In this case, the variation is limited to clockspeeds. So 3.2GHz plays 3.4GHz (3.6GHz and 3.8GHz, respectively, for Turbo), which is a difference of less than a 10 per cent.
Not for the pros
Things are a bit different when it comes to more efficiently multi-threaded code, like video crunching and professional rendering. This is where the 4770K's support for an extra four threads pays off. Add in the 4770K's clockspeed advantage and the result is getting on for 50 per cent more punch in Cinebench.
Of course, the 4670K doesn't have Hyper-threading support either, so it's just that 200MHz clockspeed advantage it has to fall back on. Again, all this changes if you take overclocking into account. The two more expensive chips are clearly miles ahead of the 4570 when all are running at their maximum overclock. But like we said, that assumes you're going to overclock in the first place, which is hardly a given.

Benchmarks
CPU rendering performance
Cinebench R11.5: Index score: Higher is better
Core i7 4770K: 8.41
Core i5 4670K: 6.36
Core i5 4570: 6.16
Core i7 3770K: 7.78

X264 v4.0: FPS: Higher is better

Core i7 4770K: 45.5
Core i5 4670K: 36.9
Core i5 4570: 37.59
Core i7 3770K: 43.55
Overclocking performance
Max OC: GHz: Higher is better

Core i7 4770K: 4.7
Core i5 4670K: 4.5
Core i5 4570: N/A
Core i7 3770K: 4.8
Anyway, what all this really comes down to is price. The 4570 gives a pretty similar stock-clocked experience to the 4670K. If it's cheaper, it's all good, and it is, but only a little. If your budget is super skinny, that price tag could make all the difference and we'd vote 4570.
It's every bit as good for stock-clocked gaming as the 4670K, but if you can stretch to it, that unlocked multiplier on the 4670K is very seductive. Intel knows this, of course, which is why the 4670K exists in the first place. It's a classic upsell.
Verdict
When you think about it in those terms, the whole thing becomes incredibly infuriating and the 4570 starts looking like a way to stick it to the man. Take that, Intel! I'm not buying your cynical K Series chip!
But in the end, it can only make sense to buy the chip that suits you best. For us, that's usually going to be the slightly pricier 4670K.

G.Skill Trident X - Overclockers Club

As memory capacities and speeds increase, the ability of memory controllers to keep up is the
challenge facing the enthusiast. Luckily, this set is targeted for use with Intel's latest socket 1155 Third Generation Core series processors and motherboards equipped with Intel's Z77 chipset. One thing proven so far has been that the Ivy Bridge processors seem to be equipped with incredible memory controllers that are allowing new world records for memory clock speed almost daily. To meet this need, G.Skill has put together a full line of modules based on its Trident X design. Starting at 2400MHz and going up to 2800MHz with capacities of up to 32GB, the Trident X line is ready to take advantage of the improved memory controller architecture on the Ivy Bridge processor. The set I will be looking at today is a 2400MHz 2x4GB kit designed to use latencies of 10-12-12-31 with 1.65v. What sets the Trident X line-up apart from the Ripjaws Z and X modules are the extruded heat shields and removable heat sink. The heat sink can be removed by removing two screws and then sliding the assembly off for some extreme cooling — somewhat similar to what Corsair employs with its Dominator GTX modules. Let's look a little deeper at these modules, available from the e-tailers for a modest price of $99 — much lower than one would expect for a 2400MHz-rated set of modules with added features.

Bioshock Infinite

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game developed by Irrational Games, and
published by 2K Games. Previously known as "Project Icarus" in development, it was released worldwide on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms on March 26, 2013. An Aspyr port to Mac OS X was released on August 29, 2013. BioShock Infinite is the third installment in the BioShock series, and though it is not part of the storyline of previous BioShock games, it does feature similar gameplay concepts and themes. The game's concept and setting were developed by Irrational's creative lead, Ken Levine, who took inspiration from both historical events at the turn of the 20th century, as well as more recent ones at the time such as the "Occupy" protests.

Set in 1912 during the growth of American exceptionalism, the game has protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for most of her life. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city's warring factions: the nativist and elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, rebels representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and learns that she possesses strange powers to manipulate rifts in the space-time continuum that ravage Columbia.
The player controls Booker throughout the game, eventually working with the AI-controlled Elizabeth. Like previous BioShock games, the player uses a combination of weapons, gear, and psychokinetic powers granted through vigors. Elizabeth's powers can also be used to help fight hostile forces. In contrast to the limited spaces of the underwater city of Rapture, the open-air city of Columbia provides for more combat challenges, including combat that takes place aboard the city's Skyline rollercoaster-like rail system. The game also features an optional "1999 Mode", harking back to games like System Shock 2 where decisions made by the player have a more permanent impact on the game.
BioShock Infinite won numerous pre-release awards for its display at E3 2011, including "Best of Show" from the Game Critics Awards. Upon release, the game received critical acclaim and was favorably compared to, with some even considering it had surpassed, the original BioShock game. The game's plot and visual aesthetics were particularly praised (with its ending sparking debates across internet forums), while the combat received a divided response with some praising its new additions and others criticizing its simplicity. Its themes of political and religious beliefs, and the use of excessively violent imagery have also raised controversy. Take Two has reported that over 3.7 million retail copies have shipped within the first two months of the game's release.

Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4 (also known as BF4) is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic Arts. The game is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3. The game will be released on October 29, 2013 in North America, October 31, 2013 in Australia and Japan, and November 1, 2013 in Europe for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 3PlayStation 4Xbox 360 and Xbox OneBattlefield 4 features several changes compared to its predecessor. The game's heads-up display is much the same, composed of two compact rectangles. The lower left-hand corner features a mini-map and compass for navigation, and a simplified objective notice above it; the lower right includes a compact ammo counter and health meter. The mini-map, as well as the main game screen, shows symbols marking three kinds of entities: blue for allies, green for squadmates, and red/orange for enemies.

Players can now use dual-scoped weapons, including weapons with different firing modes (e.g. single shots, automatic fire). They can now "spot" targets—marking their positions to the player's squad— in the single player campaign (a first in the Battlefield franchise) as well as in multiplayer, allowing teammates to either suppress or eliminate them. In addition, players will have more survival capabilities, such as countering melee attacks from the front while standing or crouching, shooting with their sidearm while swimming, and diving underwater to avoid enemy detection. The single-player campaign will see the player using vehicles to quickly traverse mini-sandbox-style levels.

overhead view of the map "Siege of Shanghai

Battlefield's multiplayer has been confirmed to contain 3 playable factions; U.S.China and Russia and up to 64 players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Also confirmed is the return of the "Commander Mode" last seen in Battlefield 2, which gives select players an RTS-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and ordering in missile strikes and such on hostile targets (as long as at least one friendly player can see the target). A spectator mode has also been confirmed. Enabling players to spectate each other in first or third person. As well as the use of a free camera to pan around the map from any angle. On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level. Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.
A complete list of the multiplayer maps was also revealed on September 27, 2013, on a blog post by EA, where the base game of Battlefield 4 will have ten maps. The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai, Paracel Storm, Zavod 311, Lancang Dam, Flood Zone, Rogue Transmission, Hainan Resort, Dawnbreaker, Operation Locker and Golmud Railway". New and re-appearing game modes were also announced on the same day on a blog post by DICE, that "all modes will be playable on all maps". The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called "Obliteration and Defuse", along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.
In another blog post by DICE, the four kits from Battlefield 3 will be returning with new enhancements and abilities. The Assault kit now has a limited number of revives and must wait for his defibrillator to recharge before reviving another player. The Engineer kit now uses PDWs, as carbines are now available to all kits, in addition the kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now far more mobile and is able to equip carbines and C4. Sniping mechanics are also enhanced with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 Armored Car, and the Z-10W Attack Helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "Attack" and "Stealth". The Attack jets focus is mainly air to ground capabilities, while the Stealth jets focusing mainly on air to air combat.
Customization has also been heavily improved in Battlefield 4, with all new camos available for every gun. A new "adaptive" camo is also being introduced that can adapt the camo to the map being played without the player having to change camos every game. Camos can now be applied to Jets, Helicopters, and Tanks.
The first expansion pack, "Second Assault", has four maps from "Battlefield 3", re-imagined for Frostbite 3.
