Sid Meier's Civilization V - Brave New World

OVERVIEW

Sid Meier's Civilization® V: Brave New World is the second expansion pack for Civilization V - the critically acclaimed 2010 PC Game of the Year. This new expansion provides enhanced depth and replayability through the introduction of international trade and a focus on culture and diplomacy. Your influence around the world will be impacted by creating Great Works, choosing an ideology for your people and proposing global resolutions in the World Congress. As you move through the ages of history you will make critical decisions that will impact your relationship with other civilizations.

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World also introduces nine new civilizations, eight new wonders, two new scenarios, four new gameplay systems and dozens of new units, buildings and improvements offering an expanded variety of ways to build the most powerful empire in the world.

FEATURES

New Culture Victory: Spread your culture across the globe, dominate all other cultures. Create masterpieces with Great Artists, Writers and Musicians that are placed in key buildings across your empire like Museums, Opera Houses, and even the Great Library. Use Archaeologists to investigate sites of ancient battles and city ruins for priceless cultural artifacts. Become the first civilization with a majority influence in all other civilizations to achieve a Culture Victory, becoming the envy of the world.

New Policies and Ideologies: Enter the Industrial Age and choose the ideology of your people: Freedom, Order, or Autocracy. Each ideology grants access to increasingly powerful abilities, and serves the different victory conditions in unique ways. The choices you make will impact your relationships with other civilizations for the rest of the game.

World Congress: The importance of diplomacy is intensified and city-state alliances are more important than ever. Change the diplomatic landscape through a new World Congress that votes on critical issues like implementing trade sanctions against rogue nations, limiting resource usage, designating host cities for the World Games, and the use of nuclear weapons. Game-changing resolutions, vote trading, intrigue and a new lead-in to the Diplomatic Victory ensures that the end of the game will be more dynamic than ever before.

International Trade Routes: Build your cities into hubs of international trade by land and sea, creating great wealth and prosperity for your people, while also spreading religion, cultural influence, and science. The number of trade routes increases through the advancement of economics and technologies, the creation of wonders, and the unique abilities of your civilization. Will you connect to a closer city for a lower payoff and a safer route, choose a longer route with more risk for the bigger payoff, or perhaps point your trade route inward, sending vitally important food and production to the far corners of your own empire?

New Civilizations, Units and Buildings: Nine new leaders and civilizations are introduced, including Casimir of Poland, each with their unique traits, units and buildings.

New Wonders: This expansion set introduces eight new Wonders including the Parthenon, Broadway, the Globe Theater, and the Uffizi.

Bioshock Infinite

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game developed by Irrational Games, and
published by 2K Games. Previously known as "Project Icarus" in development, it was released worldwide on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms on March 26, 2013. An Aspyr port to Mac OS X was released on August 29, 2013. BioShock Infinite is the third installment in the BioShock series, and though it is not part of the storyline of previous BioShock games, it does feature similar gameplay concepts and themes. The game's concept and setting were developed by Irrational's creative lead, Ken Levine, who took inspiration from both historical events at the turn of the 20th century, as well as more recent ones at the time such as the "Occupy" protests.

Set in 1912 during the growth of American exceptionalism, the game has protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for most of her life. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city's warring factions: the nativist and elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, rebels representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and learns that she possesses strange powers to manipulate rifts in the space-time continuum that ravage Columbia.
The player controls Booker throughout the game, eventually working with the AI-controlled Elizabeth. Like previous BioShock games, the player uses a combination of weapons, gear, and psychokinetic powers granted through vigors. Elizabeth's powers can also be used to help fight hostile forces. In contrast to the limited spaces of the underwater city of Rapture, the open-air city of Columbia provides for more combat challenges, including combat that takes place aboard the city's Skyline rollercoaster-like rail system. The game also features an optional "1999 Mode", harking back to games like System Shock 2 where decisions made by the player have a more permanent impact on the game.
BioShock Infinite won numerous pre-release awards for its display at E3 2011, including "Best of Show" from the Game Critics Awards. Upon release, the game received critical acclaim and was favorably compared to, with some even considering it had surpassed, the original BioShock game. The game's plot and visual aesthetics were particularly praised (with its ending sparking debates across internet forums), while the combat received a divided response with some praising its new additions and others criticizing its simplicity. Its themes of political and religious beliefs, and the use of excessively violent imagery have also raised controversy. Take Two has reported that over 3.7 million retail copies have shipped within the first two months of the game's release.

Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4 (also known as BF4) is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic Arts. The game is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3. The game will be released on October 29, 2013 in North America, October 31, 2013 in Australia and Japan, and November 1, 2013 in Europe for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 3PlayStation 4Xbox 360 and Xbox OneBattlefield 4 features several changes compared to its predecessor. The game's heads-up display is much the same, composed of two compact rectangles. The lower left-hand corner features a mini-map and compass for navigation, and a simplified objective notice above it; the lower right includes a compact ammo counter and health meter. The mini-map, as well as the main game screen, shows symbols marking three kinds of entities: blue for allies, green for squadmates, and red/orange for enemies.

Players can now use dual-scoped weapons, including weapons with different firing modes (e.g. single shots, automatic fire). They can now "spot" targets—marking their positions to the player's squad— in the single player campaign (a first in the Battlefield franchise) as well as in multiplayer, allowing teammates to either suppress or eliminate them. In addition, players will have more survival capabilities, such as countering melee attacks from the front while standing or crouching, shooting with their sidearm while swimming, and diving underwater to avoid enemy detection. The single-player campaign will see the player using vehicles to quickly traverse mini-sandbox-style levels.

Battlefield's multiplayer has been confirmed to contain 3 playable factions; U.S.China and Russia and up to 64 players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Also confirmed is the return of the "Commander Mode" last seen in Battlefield 2, which gives select players an RTS-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and ordering in missile strikes and such on hostile targets (as long as at least one friendly player can see the target). A spectator mode has also been confirmed. Enabling players to spectate each other in first or third person. As well as the use of a free camera to pan around the map from any angle. On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level. Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.
A complete list of the multiplayer maps was also revealed on September 27, 2013, on a blog post by EA, where the base game of Battlefield 4 will have ten maps. The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai, Paracel Storm, Zavod 311, Lancang Dam, Flood Zone, Rogue Transmission, Hainan Resort, Dawnbreaker, Operation Locker and Golmud Railway". New and re-appearing game modes were also announced on the same day on a blog post by DICE, that "all modes will be playable on all maps". The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called "Obliteration and Defuse", along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.
In another blog post by DICE, the four kits from Battlefield 3 will be returning with new enhancements and abilities. The Assault kit now has a limited number of revives and must wait for his defibrillator to recharge before reviving another player. The Engineer kit now uses PDWs, as carbines are now available to all kits, in addition the kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now far more mobile and is able to equip carbines and C4. Sniping mechanics are also enhanced with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 Armored Car, and the Z-10W Attack Helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "Attack" and "Stealth". The Attack jets focus is mainly air to ground capabilities, while the Stealth jets focusing mainly on air to air combat.
Customization has also been heavily improved in Battlefield 4, with all new camos available for every gun. A new "adaptive" camo is also being introduced that can adapt the camo to the map being played without the player having to change camos every game. Camos can now be applied to Jets, Helicopters, and Tanks.
The first expansion pack, "Second Assault", has four maps from "Battlefield 3", re-imagined for Frostbite 3.

Sniper 2 Ghost Warrior

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a tactical shooter video game developed and published by City Interactive for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was released on March 12, 2013 in North America, March 15, 2013 in Europe and March 19, 2013 in Australia. It is the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
The game starts with player taking control of private security consultant Captain Cole Anderson, in the Philippines, with CIA Special Agent Diaz making their way to an old Russian radar post to destroy it while working on a tip that some mercenaries had assembled there to broker a deal for a bio-agent WMD. While Diaz destroys it, he overhears enemy radio chatter about the capture of a spy working for the PSC by the mercenaries. Diaz commands a team to rescue the operative while Anderson makes his way to provide covering fire from a cave overlooking the resort, where the soldier is being held captive and where the supposed deal is scheduled to take place. They save the soldier, however while monitoring the deal Anderson sees one of the dealers to be Merinov, an old aquantaince from his past, and subsequently the entire team is ambushed by an enemy sniper and everyone except Anderson is either killed or captured. Anderson heads to a village to intercept the transfer of the bio-weapon as well as his captured teammates. He manages to rescue Diaz and Gomez just as they are about to be executed, however the Bio-Weapon is lost. Both agents link up with Anderson, but Gomez is killed while escaping from the pursuing mercenaries. After successfully escaping their pursuers Diaz remarks, "it's Sarajevo all over again".
Anderson has been sent to the brig for disobeying direct orders (rescuing his team-mates instead of securing the Bio-Agent WMD which was the primary objective). He remembers events in Sarajevo, 1993, where he and his spotter Carl Maddox were tasked to take pictures of genocide of Serbian forces led by Marko Vladić. They meet a Russian contact Merinov inside the city. After securing a strategic point and taking the pictures of the genocide, Maddox loses his cool unable to watch the atrocities further, and goes against orders to kill Vladić. Anderson reluctantly follows him. Merinov shows them a collapsed building overlooking Vladić's position. Merinov leaves to find transport for Maddox and Anderson while they ambush the Serbian Commander. Anderson shoots Vladić and they run to the extraction point. There Merinov betrays them to the Serbian forces and they are captured. Anderson escapes to stop Merinov from framing US forces for the genocide. Anderson finds out from command that Maddox is actually a traitor working with Merinov, who manipulated him to kill Vladić leaving his forces free to take part is gun running. He is ordered to kill Maddox instead of Merinov. Anderson shoots Maddox inside a moving jeep and keeps the shell casing of the bullet which he shot Maddox with.
Back in the prison,Diaz visits Cole, informing him that he has pulled in favours to get him out of the brig and back in action with him as they need him to kill Merinov who is ready to sell the Bio-Agent to a Fanatical Jihadi Warlord in Kashmir - a fallout of which could create a war between Pakistan and India and profit Merinov's gun running operation. Diaz and Anderson head to Tibet to assassinate Merinov and recover the WMD. On the way to the deal site they suffer an accident and lose their equipment. After recovering their equipment and escaping a collapsing caveway they finally reach the nest overlooking the ambush site. While aiming to shoot Merinov, Anderson sees Maddox, apparently having survived his shot coming out of the helicopter. Maddox notices them and alerts their own mercenary forces to the ambush. Anderson shoots and kills Merinov through the glass of the helicopter, causing it to crash. Maddox however survives and secures the Bio-Weapon and taunts Anderson to come after him. Diaz and Anderson go after Maddox which eventually leads to Anderson having a sniping duel with Maddox. Finally Anderson shoots and kills Maddox, securing the Bio-Weapon. Diaz asks him if he has anyone waiting for him back at home to which Anderson replies 'My rifle is my best friend, it is my life' and drops the shell he kept for 20 years.
